The High School affiliated to Tsinghua University held an expert meeting to guide the course research activities of the "Into the Hall of Science" project

On January 6, 2015, the High School Affiliated to Tsinghua University held an expert meeting on "Entering the Hall of Science" project course research activities in conference room B102。Fang Yan, Party Secretary of Tsinghua Affiliated High School,Zhu Pei, director of the Teaching Management Center,Innovation class "into the Hall of Science" project teachers team,A total of 18 experts from the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Meteorological Administration, China Meteorological Administration, Beijing Zoo, Gas Turbine Research Institute of Thermal Engineering, Tsinghua University, Intel China Laboratory, Ecological Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other research institutes attended the meeting。The meeting was presided over by Mr. Han Xing from the Project Curriculum Group of Tsinghua High School。

Secretary Fang Yan pointed out in her speech,The course of "Three Steps" project is the traditional course of the school,It is designed to make up for the shortcomings of traditional exam-oriented education,The guiding ideology of "Three Steps" project is to create an infiltrating learning atmosphere,Stimulate students' interest in science,Cultivate students' ability of independent learning, teamwork and scientific inquiry,We are committed to cultivating talents who can lead the society, have a scientific spirit, can learn for life and devote themselves to the scientific career。On behalf of the school, Secretary Fang sincerely thanked the experts for their selfless dedication, and issued the letter of appointment for each guidance expert。

Then, the three expert representatives, Shan Baoqing, Wang Weihong and Jia Yuehui, made speeches on the implementation plan, research workflow and desk calendar of research work, and discussed and exchanged with the teachers of Tsinghua High School。

"Into the Palace of Science" is one of the "Three steps" (into the Old Summer Palace, into the cultural classics, into the Palace of Science) program courses set up by Tsinghua Affiliated High School for junior high school innovation classes. The purpose is to let students understand science, contact science, participate in the process of scientific exploration in junior high school, and improve students' scientific literacy。The "Listening to Science" and "Feeling Science" phases have been completed this semester,Touch Science is training for next semester,It is combined with the characteristics and ability of innovative class students to shape the requirements,Focus on cultivating students' thinking mode of scientific inquiry,That is, how to train scientific thinking processes such as question raising, literature review, research program design, experimental operation, investigation and analysis, problem solving and paper writing。In order to make the "touch stage" learning more effective, the curriculum group divides students into groups, and the school employs experts in the field of science as instructors, so that students can more fully carry out independent learning and cooperative learning, and better experience the process of scientific inquiry。

Through this activity, the experts reached a consensus on how to carry out the activities of the next semester. After the meeting, they had face-to-face communication and guidance with the students, laying a solid foundation for the smooth development of the next semester's courses。
